How to download photos from pdf

If you have a PDF that you want to share with the world via Facebook, you might hit a snag. You simply can't upload that file type to Facebook as a photo. Thankfully, there are a few ways around that little roadblock. Here's how to navigate those workarounds.

If you have Adobe Acrobat software on your desktop, you're in luck. Acrobat is basically the king of all things PDF, and it can help you out. Use the software to export or convert PDFs to different file formats, including image formats. Follow these steps:

1. Open the PDF in Acrobat.
2. Click on "Tools," then "Export PDF."
3. Choose "Image," then your desired file format (a JPEG or PNG format should work just fine).
4. Click the gear icon to configure the conversion settings, such as resolution, for your selected file format.
5. Check the "Export All Images" box. You can choose to extract and save only the images from the PDF file. If you don't, then each page from the PDF will export as your chosen file type.
6. Click "Export," and choose which local folder you'd like to export your new file to.
7. Click "Save" to finish exporting your PDF as its new file format.

Once you're done exporting the file, navigate to the folder where you saved the new file, and there you have it: an image ready for Facebook upload.

Plenty of free file-type converters are available online, including ones that convert PDF files to image formats.

Visit the PDF Converter website, for example, to convert a PDF file to JPG format. This site can also change a PDF to PNG or TIFF image format.

This one's probably the simplest option. If you open the PDF file on your desktop and take a screenshot of it, your computer will save that screenshot as an image file – most likely in the PNG format. Facebook works well with PNG files, so you shouldn't have any problems uploading this screenshot to the social media platform.

This method is a little convoluted, but it works, so here goes:

1. Open a new file in Microsoft Word.
2. Go to the "Insert" menu, select "Pictures," then select "Picture From File."
3. Select the PDF file you'd like to save as an image, and click "Insert." The PDF will embed in the Word file.
4. Right-click on the image in the Word doc.
5. Select "Save as Picture," and enter a file name.
6. Select the location on your desktop where you'd like to save the image.
7. Click on the "Save as Type" drop-down menu, and select an image format (either JPEG or PNG).
8. Click "Save," and there you go: Your PDF will save as an image format in the location you selected.

• The Snipping Tool produces low-resolution images that will work for most Web purposes. If you need to convert PDFs to high-resolution images, use an online tool. After you upload your PDF to one of these sites, the tool lets you download the converted image files.
