2. Create new registry keys

1. Press Windows Key + R and enter regedit.
2. Press Enter or click OK to start Registry Editor.
   
3. Once Registry Editor opens, go to the following key in the left panel.:
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesatapi
4. Right click atapi and select New > Key.
5. Enter Controller0 as the name of the new key.
   
6. Select Controller0 and in the right pane right click the empty space and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
   • Enter EnumDevice1 as the name of new DWORD.
     
7. Double click EnumDevice1 DWORD to open its properties.
   • Enter 1 in Value data input field and click OK to save changes.

In addition, it might be a good idea that you create a backup of your registry in case anything goes wrong.

Some users reported that you might have to create another controller key if you have more than one DVD drive on your system. To do that, repeat the same steps from above, but instead of calling the new key Controller0, be sure to name it Controller1.

If you don’t want to use Registry Editor, you can do the same thing by using Command Prompt. To do that follow these steps:

1. Press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
   
2. Once the Command Prompt opens enter the following line and press Enter to run it:
   • reg.exe add “HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetServicesatapiController0” /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
     
3. Close Command Prompt and restart your computer.

By using Command Prompt you’ll perform the same action as adding the registry key manually, therefore it’s a decent and somewhat quicker alternative.
